Founded in 1989, the 75 place nursery is located in Urmston Manchester, in a residential area and is close to all transport links. The nursery is open Monday to Friday 7:30am till 6:30pm excluding bank holidays with an optional 7:00am-7:00pm session. The nursery has been awarded the Trafford Healthy Setting Award and the Trafford Inclusion Friendly Stamp. In 2018 the nursery was awarded Outstanding by Ofsted and Kids Planet will continue to provide the highest quality childcare. Children receive very individual care and as followers of the Early Years Framework the nursery is tailored to suit the needs of your child and to allow them to express themselves and learn through exploration.

Say Yes to Mess! 🎨🌿

Mud on knees, paint-covered fingers, sand in shoes and water everywhere. It might look like mess, but for children it can be an experiment, an adventure, a work of art or a new discovery.

We’ve launched The Mess Report, new research exploring how families feel about messy play and whether children today are getting enough opportunities to experience it.

After speaking to 1,000 UK parents of children under 10, we found that 79% agree messy play supports children’s development, creativity and wellbeing, yet 70% believe children today don’t get enough opportunities to get messy.

We’re calling this The Mess Gap.

The Mess Report explores what might be behind that gap, why opportunities to pour, squash, mix, dig, build, splash and create are so valuable, and how we can make more space for them in childhood.

At Kids Planet, we’re proud to say Yes to Mess because we know there is method in the mess, and behind every muddy handprint and paint splatter is an opportunity for learning.

Recently, updated safer sleep guidance came into effect across the early years sector - reinforcing the importance of creating safer sleep environments for babies and young children.

At Kids Planet, safer sleep practices are embedded across our nurseries, and our teams work closely with families to support each child's individual routine.

Meet our Pre-school team!
Our Pre-school team are dedicated to making sure your children become independent and school ready!

We have Miss Morris our Teacher who supports the children in teaching and school readiness, Shannon is our Pre-schools Room Leader who supports staff and the children and ensures the room has purposeful activities set up.
Tom is our Sports coach who ensures our children have fun surrounding sports and helps the children gain the physical skills they need to grow!
Hangama and Ioana are our lovely practitioners who support all the children, helping them develop into amazing individuals!

GARDEN CENTRE🌷🌹🪻

Toddlers went to the garden centre to make our nursery look Spring ready!
The children looked at a range of plants and flowers, noticing all the different colours and types. They then picked their own flowers and helped pay for each pot. The children then went around the nursery and planted their flowers. Everyone really enjoyed getting together and looking after our nursery environment, Well-Done!

HAPA ZOME🌷🌹🪻

Today the children have been using tools! Pre-school went into the garden, collected some flowers and placed fabric over them, using a hammer to tap them causing the dye from the flowers to make a pattern on their sheet!

Pre-school listened really well and were very careful when using their tools! we are extremely proud of our children using these new resources and creating some beautiful patterns!

OUTDOOR LEARNING

whilst the weather has been nice, Miss Morris has took the time to take learning outside! Pre-school used their number skills to find different objects and count the amounts, placing them on the correct numeral!

We then used our letter recognition skills to find specific letters on the paper, when the children found the letter 'a' they coloured it in pink, when they found the letter 'r' they coloured orange and if they found the letter 'L' they coloured it green!

They did so well and ended our lessons reading our favourite stories together.
It was a fun change in environment which the children seemed to enjoy!
