Mental health difficulties do not stay contained to the person experiencing them. They spread into relationships, into how present you are, how much you can give, how you communicate when you are already carrying something heavy. Partners notice. Children notice. The relationship starts to absorb what one or both people are managing, often without anyone quite naming what is happening.

Sometimes people come to CMC for couples therapy because the relationship feels like the problem. Sometimes it becomes clear during that process that one person would benefit from individual work alongside it. And sometimes it goes the other way: someone starts individual therapy and finds that having more of themselves available again changes things at home in ways they were not expecting.

We work with individuals and with couples. We take time at the start to understand what is actually going on before deciding what kind of support makes most sense, because what is being asked for and what is most needed are not always the same thing.

If relationships are part of what you are navigating, we would be glad to talk it through.

There is a specific kind of tired that comes from managing something psychological while continuing to work, maintain relationships, and appear fine.
It does not always feel dramatic from the inside. It feels more like a background effort. Keeping things moving, keeping things together, not quite getting round to doing anything about it because it is not urgent enough, or the NHS wait is too long, or it feels like too much to go private for something you have been coping with.

The point at which most people do something about it is when the coping stops being invisible. Sleep starts going. Concentration dips. The relationships that have been holding steady start to feel the strain.

If that sounds familiar, a conversation with someone who can properly assess what is going on is worth more than another few months of managing it alone. At CMC, a first consultation is free, and there is no commitment beyond that. It is just a proper conversation about what you are dealing with.

We would be glad to hear from you.

If your child is on a CAMHS waiting list, things can feel like they’re getting harder, not easier.

Most parents in this situation are holding a lot. You're watching for signs that things are deteriorating. You're trying to maintain normal life around something that doesn’t feel right. You're managing your own worry while trying to stay steady for your child.

The CAMHS waiting list is long because demand has significantly outpaced capacity. That's not a criticism of the NHS, it's a fact of the system. But an 18-month wait is a long time in a child's life, especially when development is ongoing and things are changing week to week.

If you've been waiting more than three months and things have not improved or have got worse, private specialist support is worth considering. CMC works with children and young people, and we work with parents too.

We assess thoroughly, match your child to the right clinician, and begin treatment without delay. The therapy is personalised and moves at a pace that responds to your child's needs. Most families who come to CMC find that their child gets everything they need here, without needing to continue waiting for a CAMHS appointment.

If you'd like to talk through your situation, we'd be happy to help.

The NHS waiting list is not the enemy. It is a system under enormous pressure doing the best it can.

But an 18-month wait for therapy is a long time to manage something that is affecting your ability to work, sleep, and function day to day. The gap is real, and it's worth addressing.

Specialist private therapy isn't about paying for something you should get for free. It's about recognising that some presentations can't wait, and that the right type of support at the right time makes a measurable difference to how quickly things improve.

CMC offers specialist psychological therapy with fast access. We assess what is actually going on, match you to the right clinical approach, and build a treatment plan based on your specific situation.

You don't have to manage alone.

If your child has been referred to CAMHS and you're now waiting, you're probably managing more than just a diary.

You're managing your child's day-to-day while watching for signs that things are getting harder. You're trying to hold things steady at home without knowing exactly what's coming next. You're wondering whether there's anything you can do.

Private specialist therapy doesn't have to be something you access while you wait for the NHS. For many families, it's the complete answer.

CMC works with children, young people, and the families around them. We assess thoroughly, match to the right clinician, and begin treatment without delay. The therapy is personalised, clinically led, and moves at a pace that responds to your child's needs, not a waiting list. Most families who come to CMC find that their child gets everything they need here, without needing to continue waiting for an NHS appointment.

If you'd like to talk through your child's situation and whether specialist support could help, we'd be glad to listen.

If you've tried therapy before and things haven't improved, it can feel like something has gone wrong.

It hasn't.

You haven't failed therapy. You've been waiting for the right kind.

Specialist psychological support is available outside the NHS, with faster access and precise clinical matching to your specific situation.

We'd be glad to talk.

Perinatal mental health matters. Experiences, conversations, and support shape outcomes and futures for both parents and babies. When we listen well, we build trust. When we support early, we prevent harm. When we care consistently, we make a lasting difference.

Through our FPSS service that supports those involved in the Ockenden Maternity Review, we place individuals at the very centre of all decision-making ensuring every voice is heard, every experience is recognised, and care is shaped around what matters most to each person.

The Condition Management Company is now providing FPSS Leeds, an independent Family Psychological Support Service for families affected by the perinatal maternity review at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Commissioned by the Trust and delivered by The Condition Management Company, FPSS Leeds is clinically independent, confidential, and designed to provide safe, compassionate psychological support throughout what can be an emotionally complex process.

For many families, participation in a maternity review can reopen grief, intensify trauma responses, and place strain on relationships. When those involved in the review process feel emotionally supported, it creates the conditions for clearer communication and more thoughtful engagement on all sides.

FPSS Leeds is separate from the review process. We do not contribute to judgments or outcomes. Our role is solely to support those who are involved and affected, confidentially and compassionately. Our purpose is to provide structured, proportionate psychological care. This ranges from wellbeing support through to trauma-focused therapies such as CBT and EMDR, delivered by experienced clinicians. Review processes are procedural, but for families they are deeply personal.

FPSS Leeds exists to ensure that when support is needed, it is accessible, appropriate, and independent.

At The Condition Management Company, we provide highly personalised and responsive occupational mental health support through:

• Acute Psychological Treatment (APT) - rapid, focused intervention for employees experiencing significant psychological distress.

• Condition Management Pathway (CMP) – personalised, proactive, and structured support to maintain resilience, recovery, and sustained productivity over time.

Together, these services provide a seamless pathway from stabilisation to long-term wellbeing.
