A fantastic feast.......

St Peter’s lovely residents had their very own carvery today, and wow, it went down a treat. Everyone enjoyed picking their own tasty items with support from staff. The bar served all their favourite drinks to wash things down. Everyone enjoyed it so much; all we have heard since is when can we have that again!

A lovely service.....

Yesterday, The Rock Church visited our residents at Orchard House to provide a wonderful church service. Our residents really enjoyed participating, especially through singing and reminiscence activities. It was a wonderful and meaningful time for everyone, bringing joy, memories, and togetherness to our home.

Good luck Sophie!

Our lovely fitness trainer, Sophie, is going to work for herself as a Physiotherapist. Sophie visits St Peter's on a Friday morning to hold an exercise class. She has been a wonderful visitor to the home, and her classes are always engaging and fun. The residents are quite sad, and so they decided to make Sophie some Good Luck cards for her new job. Here are a few things our residents have said about her ....
"She is kind and caring towards us all"
"She encouraged us all to take part, and we will all miss her a lot"
We wish her all the very best in her new role and she is welcome back any time.

Always a treat!....

Afternoon Tea is a bit of a British institution...and deservedly so, as it's so yummy! Residents here at St Peter's licked their lips and got their napkins ready last week as they were treated to a fab spread of sandwiches, cakes, and all washed down with a refreshing cuppa! There were lots of happy faces and numerous requests for the whole thing to be repeated every week!

On the Oche......

St Peter's residents always enjoy playing games. So when Waley's Darts came to visit the home recently there were a lot of willing competitors. It's a great game for hand eye coordination, helping fine motor skills, and, most importantly, it's a lot of fun.

Bowling bonanza.....

Great for engagement and hand-eye coordination, a session of Indoor Skittles brought a lot of laughs to The Ruddington this week. Some competitive spirits were in the room, and staff were encouraged to join in the fun. This game certainly challenged everyone's sports and strategic skills, and was ideal for a group to enjoy together.

Our lovely Orchard House resident, Betty, celebrated her 99th birthday on 17th August! 🎂🎉 Betty was absolutely delighted with her surprise birthday cake and enjoyed her special day surrounded by everyone at the home. ❤️

We are so happy to celebrate this wonderful milestone with her, and we’re already looking forward to an even bigger celebration next year for her 100th birthday! 🥳🎈🎉

Residents' choice.......

Although we have a lot of organised activities at The Ruddington, we occasionally go freestyle and residents choose whatever they want to do within an activity session. This can range from games of all sorts to colouring, singing and dancing. Jigsaws are always popular and are great for encouraging concentration. But for those who like to move around, a short dance is a surefire favourite. Some nice pictures here of just such a session we held recently.

Cooking up a storm........

Our lovely residents at St Peter's have been enjoying getting creative in the kitchen over the past week. Pizzas have been on the menu, and residents were asked to create their own toppings. There were some fab creations, and as can be seen from the pics, they all looked incredibly tasty. Needless to say, they didn't last long!
