🎉 Congratulations to our learners on completing the programme!

Over the past four weeks, 17 learners have come together, each bringing their own backgrounds, experiences and reasons for joining. Some were looking for a change in career, while others were returning to Health & Social Care after some time away.

There was plenty of laughter along the way, and it was great to see the group get to know each other, support one another and grow in confidence throughout the programme.

A big thank you to our trainer, Alex, for supporting the group throughout the four weeks. A special shout out as well to Helen and Damian for being awarded Learners of the Cohort!

Congratulations again to everyone who completed the programme. It’s been lovely having you with us at Embark. You are the future of care, and we wish you all the best on the rest of your journey!

“There’s no catch.”

Shirley Way, Head of Region (Midlands) at Skills for Care spoke about how Embark and Fairway are helping to open people’s eyes to the opportunities available within adult social care.

Sometimes people can be unsure when they’re offered support or a route into a new career, wondering what the catch might be. As Shirley put it, there really isn’t one. We’re here to support people, help them build their skills and create genuine opportunities to start and develop a career in care.

Shirley also spoke about the tangible outcomes she sees from this work, not just for the people entering the sector, but for the wider health and social care workforce and ultimately the people receiving care and support.

One of the highlights Shirley shared was how rewarding it is to see carers grow in confidence, skills and their careers. It was wonderful to hear this recognised by someone who knows the care sector so well, and a reminder of why creating these opportunities matters.

What a way to celebrate our Wolverhampton Group! 🎉

After four weeks of hard work, learning and plenty of progress, our learners came together for their Celebration Day to mark completing their Health and Social Care programme and achieving their Level 1 qualification.

It was brilliant to see everyone together, celebrating what they had achieved, sharing food and enjoying the moment after four weeks of working towards this day. We also handed out awards to recognise some of the learners and their achievements along the way.

We were really pleased to welcome the Mayor of Wolverhampton, who spent time with the group and shared some brilliant words with the learners. He spoke about how proud he was of their achievements and how they represent Wolverhampton, while encouraging them to be proud of what they have accomplished and look forward to what comes next.

It was a positive and motivating moment for everyone in the room and made an already special day even more memorable. It was fantastic to see the Mayor take such an interest in the work of Embark Learning and Fairway Healthcare and the opportunities we are creating for people looking to build a career in health and social care.

A huge thank you to Kelly, our trainer, for all the support, encouragement and guidance she gave the group throughout the programme, and to Lisa for supporting the learners along the way. Your work makes such a difference.

The results speak for themselves:

17 learners started the programme
15 progressed to their guaranteed interview with Fairway
14 successfully passed their interview

To our Wolverhampton Group, thank you for being such a brilliant group from start to finish. Seeing you all celebrate together, receive your awards and hear you describe Embark in your own words was a fantastic way to finish the four weeks.

This is exactly why we do what we do. Giving people the opportunity to learn, gain a qualification, build their confidence and take a genuine step towards a career in care.

We couldn't be prouder of you all.

Well done, Wolverhampton Group! 👏❤️

A new season begins, and we’re proud to continue our partnership with Coventry Rugby Club alongside Fairway Homecare 🏉

As we enter our second year as sponsors and supporters of the club, we’re able to look back on the real impact the partnership has already made.

In our first year, more than 30 people were identified, trained and placed into health and social care roles in and around Coventry.

With a classroom and learning centre based at the club, we’re able to bring training directly into the local community and help more people take their first steps towards a new career in health and social care.

As we look ahead to a second season, we’re excited to build on that momentum, increase our programmes and create even more opportunities for local people.

We’re also looking forward to seeing Coventry Rugby take to the pitch and wishing the club every success for the season ahead.

It’s hard not to smile listening to Clinton talk about his journey.

He speaks so naturally about why he chose care and how much he enjoys what he does. He wanted to help people have a better day, and you can tell that sense of purpose is still a big part of what drives him.

Along the way, he’s made some great friendships, gained new experiences and grown in confidence. After completing his training with Embark, he’s now working with Fairway, experiencing different care homes and environments while building a career that he clearly feels passionate about.

It’s funny how one decision can sometimes lead you somewhere you never quite expected. Clinton took that first step into care and has already come a long way. It’s been really nice to see where that journey has taken him, and hopefully there’s plenty more to come.

A look behind the scenes at Embark Learning

Our learners have been taking part in hands-on training, practising important care skills and learning more about what it takes to support others.

From moving and handling, first aid, personal care and de-esculation and breakaway techniques, these moments show just some of the preparation that goes into starting a career in health and social care.

It’s always great to see the enthusiasm learners bring to each session and the progress they make as they continue developing their skills.

We’re really pleased to have supported The Haven’s Back to School Appeal this year. 🎒

Rucksacks were filled with school essentials, including stationery, notebooks, water bottles and a few other bits to help children get ready for the new school year.

Starting a new school year comes with plenty to think about, and for some families, the cost of getting everything they need can be an added pressure. Having the right equipment for school can make such a difference, helping children feel prepared, comfortable and ready to learn.

It was lovely to play a small part in such a worthwhile appeal and help The Haven provide these essentials to children and families who need them. 💙

A stronger health and social care workforce starts with developing the right people.

The future of care depends on having skilled professionals who are prepared, supported and ready to make a difference. Whether supporting people taking their first steps into the sector or helping organisations develop their workforce, effective training plays a vital role in strengthening health and social care.

At Embark Learning, we support individuals and employers through training, development and employment pathways designed around the needs of the sector.

Our programmes help people gain recognised qualifications, build practical skills and develop the confidence needed to succeed in care, while supporting providers with a pipeline of trained and motivated professionals.

By investing in learning and development, we help create opportunities for individuals and support care organisations in building the workforce they need for the future.

Strengthening care starts with developing the people who deliver it.

🌟 International Youth Day

Over the last few years, we’ve been proud to work with The King’s Trust to help young people get into employment across health and social care. It’s been a great partnership, giving young people the opportunity to gain experience, develop their skills and get started in work, while also helping bring more people into the care sector.

Our King’s Trust participants have now worked 9,000+ hours, which is a fantastic achievement. Seeing young people gain experience and take their first steps into employment is something we’re really proud to be part of.

A big thank you to The King’s Trust for the continued partnership and to everyone who has supported the young people along the way. We’re looking forward to continuing the work together.
