What does reconstructive chiropractic care actually involve? It’s more than simply getting an adjustment when something hurts. A reconstructive approach typically progresses through three phases, with each phase serving a different purpose.

Phase 1: Relief & Stabilization
The first goal is to understand what is going on and begin helping your body move and function more comfortably. This phase typically involves an evaluation, establishing a baseline, and beginning your recommended care plan.

Phase 2: Correction & Rehabilitation
Once your body begins responding to care, the focus can shift toward improving movement patterns, mobility, stability, and function. This phase generally requires consistency because meaningful changes take time.

Phase 3: Maintenance & Wellness
After progress has been made, your care can be reassessed to determine how frequently you should continue. The goal is to help maintain the progress you've achieved and support your ongoing spinal health and function.

Every person is different, so your exact timeline will depend on your condition, goals, and response to care.

What is Functional Neurology?

Functional neurology looks at how your brain and nervous system are functioning and communicating with the rest of your body. We use specialized neurological testing and individualized exercises/therapies to help improve areas such as balance, movement, coordination, sensory processing, and nervous system function.

If you’ve been dealing with dizziness, balance problems, migraines, concussion symptoms, neuropathy, or movement difficulties, functional neurology may be worth exploring.

Why may you feel better before you’re actually better?

Because pain and symptoms are often only one part of the picture. Your body can begin feeling relief before the underlying movement, structural, or functional issues have had enough time to improve. That’s why stopping care the moment you feel better may not always be the best approach. In chiropractic care, we want to monitor your progress over time and determine how your body is responding—not simply use pain as the only measure of improvement.

What does the timeline look like?
Weeks 1–2: We evaluate your condition, establish a baseline, and begin your recommended care plan.
Weeks 3–6: We continue care consistently while monitoring changes in mobility, function, and symptoms.
Around 6 weeks and beyond: We reassess your progress and determine what your next phase of care should look like based on your individual response.
Remember, feeling better can be an important first step—but it may not be the finish line.

What does “structural correction” actually mean?

In chiropractic care, structural correction means evaluating how your spine and body are positioned and moving, then developing a consistent plan to address areas that may need improvement.

It’s important to understand that structural changes take time. Your body has adapted to years of posture, movement, injuries, and daily stress. Your timeline depends on your individual condition and how your body responds to care.
