Cooking for Health 🌿✨

Our friend Chef Janelle of Petal and Bloom has launched a cooking class for kids — and she filmed it right here in the Ruscombe teaching kitchen. It's absolutely adorable and the first two episodes have already dropped!

This is exactly the kind of thing we envision more of at Ruscombe — real food education, for the next generation, rooted in this community. We can't wait to expand our cooking programs as we continue renovations on our teaching kitchen and welcome our new chefs into the space.

🌿 Asia Harris of Black Baltimore Vegan — bringing her signature vegan magic every Wednesday
💛 Shawmain Morton of Everything Chickpeas — serving meatless comfort food like you've never tasted, every Thursday
🌸 Grace Farrell —with her signature ginger juices, salads and wraps joining us every other Sunday

Ruscombe in the community. 🌿 Last month we had the joy of spending a day with our neighbors at the Cylburn Arboretum Friends Market Day — and it reminded us exactly why we do what we do.

Kids hung gratitude tags on our Joy Tree. Organic lollipops disappeared fast. And our team — Nazaahah, Summer, Johnai, and Laura — spent the afternoon making new friends and listening to what this community needs and dreams about.

Because that's the thing about people who love gardens: they already understand that living things need tending. So do people. 🌱

At Ruscombe, healing should be accessible to everyone — which is why we have our Whole Access Fund, a scholarship that ensures cost is never a barrier to the care you deserve.

Out in the community 🌱
Nazaahah and Laura had the joy of spending time at The Plantation - Park Heights Urban Garden here in Baltimore — connecting, learning, and witnessing the incredible work happening on the ground and from the Earth.
Experiences like this are a powerful reminder that Ruscombe isn’t just a place — we’re part of a living network of organizations working toward healing, food access, education, and community care across the city.
We’re grateful to be building relationships, showing up, and continuing to grow outward. This kind of connection is at the heart of where Ruscombe is headed.
