Our recent staff meeting was filled with celebration as several team members were recognized for the exceptional work they are doing. It was also bittersweet as we honored Alison D’Alessandro, our Senior Program and Policy Specialist, who is retiring on September 4 after eight years with Center for Hope.

Alison has trained more than 30,000 professionals and helped strengthen child-protection policies for dozens of organizations.

A child may never know her name.
She may never meet the children whose lives were changed.
But she taught the teacher who noticed the bruise.
She taught the childcare provider who recognized the behavioral change.
She taught the nurse how to make a report.
She taught the social worker who recognized a pattern.
She taught the coach who understood that something wasn't right.

Thank you, Alison, for your dedication to protecting children. We will miss you! 💙

Public safety starts within the community. Safe Streets Baltimore continues to co-produce public safety with residents, community partners, and neighborhood leaders through mediation, outreach, and connections to vital resources.

Each conflict successfully mediated, each connection made, helps save lives and build stronger communities.

For Diane Stoler, that reason is her daughter, Lindsay, who was treated for a Wilms tumor at Sinai Children’s Hospital when she was just four years old.

Now, Diane races to give back and help support the care that means so much to her family.
