Embody Life Holistic Wellness

Embody Life Holistic Wellness Body-Centered Holistic Empowerment Coaching is a wellness coaching session that focuses on sustainable healing and transformation from the inside out.

Founder of Embody Life Alison Rothman, MA CYT, has nearly 30 years of study and experiences in somatic healing arts and therapy, yoga, dance, and meditation, authentic embodiment, and holistic healing.

1:1/Groups/Retreats/Events Working with Alison is an opportunity to drop in to your body, dig into your hearts stirrings, uncover and hear all that which is holding you back from living a life of

presence and connection, and create attainable action steps towards your unique imprint of healing and empowerment. Through Somatic Therapy, Body Awareness, Mindfulness, Movement, and a variety of other Holistic Wellness Modalities, together, we will create the platform for new pathways of growth and possibility. Reclaim your connection with your Body, your Mind, your Heart, your Spirit, and your Soul and feel whole and empowered in the truth of who you are. Transform your state of being by cultivating the capacity to live connected to your truest Self. Learn how to respond, rather than react to life. Interrupt the story and reclaim your power. Find greater ease and peace in your life. Empower oneself and gain unwavering confidence. Release the grasp of addictions and addictive patterns. Attract in deep, fulfilling, aligned, and conscious relationships. Open up to new possibilities of living, being, and loving. Build the capacity to be comfortable in stillness. Tap into a deep sense of inner calm and steadiness that translates into your day-to-day life. Gain the skills and resource to remain embodied and connected to yourself in midst of the natural swirls of human life. What is BODY-CENTERED HOLISTIC EMPOWERMENT COACHING? The body has so much to share with us if we take the time to drop in and listen. I truly believe that we cannot heal ourselves without learning how to drop into and connect with our bodies. It is a process and a journey of discovery as we peel back the layers of tension in our cells, tissues, muscles, bones, and nervous system to uncover the truth of who we are in our purest form. It is the human condition to take on the energies and emotions of the evolution of our lives….everyone does it. What is then demanded of us, if we want to heal from the inside out in a sustainable and empowered way, is to learn how to unwind these tensions and feel ourselves on a deeper level….an embodied and aligned level. Working with the body and through the body with unwavering compassion, curiosity, kindness, and love is the way to do this. We can spend years re-hashing our life’s stories through talking and recapitulating their every nuance, without dropping into our bodies, and never progress. There is another way. I understand that for many it is incredibly difficult to know how to drop into our bodies and feel our feelings after spending years upon years stifling the body out of protection. When we numb, suppress, ignore, and/or distract ourselves, we delete our capacity to show up for our lives in their current state. This may be completely unconscious. We must work through the body to heal. Alison Rothman, MA CYT, the founder of Embody Life, is a Body-Centered Holistic Coach and Group Facilitator utilizing her extensive studies, experience, and first-hand knowledge of the capacity within the human body and spirit to heal. Alison provides clients with the ability to access their inner resources and release debilitating life patterns in order to reclaim their body, mind, and heart connection. Her approach to wellness is empowering and individualized honoring the diverse process of healing. Alison’s One-On-One Body-Centered Holistic Coaching Sessions, Women’s Wellness Retreats and Groups, the Embody Brilliance Coaching Program, The Acceptance Circle, In Power Women’s Community Program and Events, IN POWER WOMEN'S (Drop In~ In Person) CIRCLES and her signature course: Healing the Divide: An Exploration for Single Women and Men (coming in 2022!), support individuals with compassionate guidance and effective modalities to reset their relationship with their bodies, work with their minds, unwind trauma and habitual ways of living and being, learn how to connect with authenticity and truth to themselves and others, and embrace their unique existence.

Something I have always taken pride in about myself is my commitment to authenticity. My choice to show up from that congruent place in all arenas of life.

I keep it real.
(For better or worse at times!)

I also feel it is critical for those in helping professions to be honest about their own healing paths — their challenges, struggles, unravelings, and what has helped them find their way out of the muck of life and back into harmony with their truest selves.

To humanize the human experience.
To dissolve the illusion of superiority that can come with titles, education, credentials, or roles.

It feels more important than ever to surround ourselves with people who are living and breathing truth — those willing to show up in the messiness, tenderness, uncertainty, beauty, and complexity of this human life.

I know for myself that when I seek professional support, I need to feel the authenticity of the person in order to trust that they can truly hold mine.

Because this work is relational.
A dance.
A space for practice, exploration, reflection, and healing.

And for me, in the role of guide, it is essential that my humanness remains alive. I am not interested in presenting myself as someone who has it all figured out.

There is no hierarchy in being human.
Healing does not require perfection.
The more truthfully we show up, the more healing becomes possible.

Ultimately, it is my intention to create spaces where women can BE REAL. To loosen the grip of shame, silence, performance, and the stories that have kept them small. To sift themselves out from beneath the noise of external influence and reconnect with the truth of who they are.

My willingness to sit in my own authentic self — in my imperfect body and vulnerable heart — creates permission for others to do the same.

I am committed to showing up truthfully, with awareness, humility, integrity, and heart.

Your process is safe with me.

I hold the fullness of this human experience with deep integrity, compassion, self-awareness, reverence, and care.

The terrains of this life can be rugged and rough, smooth and expansive, heartbreaking and beautiful — often all at once.

We all need humans on our team who invite us to become more and more of our truest selves.

Are you feeling the pull towards some deeper healing and transformational work? I have a few spaces available for 1:1 work together. Let's connect.

I am here with an open heart, in service and support, and with unwavering faith in our ability to heal, transform, and RISE.

🙏🥰❤✨

Every day I sit with women — many in these potent midlife years — and while parts of their lives may feel as though they are crumbling, more often than not I witness transformation, healing, and POWER rising from deep within them.

They know there is more waiting for them on the horizon… a life stripped of bu****it, rooted in truth, authenticity, alignment, and integrity. A homecoming.

A remembering of exactly who they are.

There is a deeper ease in their skin now. A knowing that life is fleeting — the invincibility of youth softened by the understanding that this chapter is precious, and meant to be fully lived.

Relationships that no longer serve begin to fall away. Old ways of operating that stifle the spirit quietly dissolve.

A fire ignites deep within the belly and suddenly…we just know. We know there is more to life than the way we may have been living. The outside voices and expectations that once shaped us lose their grip and grow quieter.

What remains is…US.
THE TRUTH OF WHO WE ARE.

Where are all of my fellow midlifers? Does this resonate?

I have a few spaces open in my practice for 1:1 work — I specialize in guiding and supporting women in this chapter of midlife to heal, grow, and step forward with power, truth, alignment, integrity, and in honor of exactly who they are.

✨17 Years of Motherhood {my latest blog post}✨

My son’s birthday is this Friday, and I’ve been reflecting on this wild, 17-year journey of motherhood. I feel moved to share a piece of my story—both to offer deeper understanding of my background and how it has shaped who I am today, and to help normalize a path of motherhood that has been anything but easeful.

I find myself remembering my extremely pregnant self—feeling the weight on so many levels. Yes, I had gained over 50 pounds, but even more than that, I knew in my heart that I was not in a supportive or mutually nourishing relationship.

There were inklings of regret creeping in, alongside waves of fear, overwhelm, and anxiety, as I prepared to bring this baby into deeply tumultuous and unknown circumstances.

Fast forward a year… After spending that time in utter angst and experiencing abuse, I knew I had to do whatever it took to create some sense of safety, alignment, and stability for both myself and my baby.

Becoming a single mom felt like the best course of action.

For 11 years, I lived in that role—and honestly, looking back, I don’t know how I did it. I was fully mothering a very high-need, dysregulated child on my own while going to grad school to finish my master’s degree, working, running a business, and managing a household. I feel a shudder move through my body as I name it now and remember the magnitude and density of those years.

And still, they strengthened me in immeasurable ways. And yes—those high-stress years took a toll. I feel it now as I navigate menopausal health challenges that, in many ways, stem from living in that prolonged, high-stress, low-resourced state for so long.

There was loss in those 11 years—friendships, relationships, freedom, and a sense of steadiness in my body and life. And at the same time, I gained access to a well of wisdom and insight that has shaped who I am today.

Now, 17 years later, with a young man finding his way in an extremely chaotic and conflictual world, I feel something in my body finally begin to rest. There is a trust moving through me that I have not been able to access before.

There is a deep part of me that believes in this challenging, at times nearly insane, journey that Kai and I have walked together—it has shown me the power of the mother-son bond in a way I could not have understood otherwise. Even as our relationship has shifted in these past few years, with him becoming a teenager and me being partnered, that unshakable connection remains.

I am his person, and I always will be.
And to me, that makes it all worth it.

So please join me in sending love to my beautiful, stubborn, fiery, funny, uniquely himself Taurean boy as he turns 17!

And to all of you… I know Mother’s Day can hold so much—grief, longing, love, and everything in between. For those who have lost their mothers, for those who have longed to become mothers, and for all the layered experiences in between.

May we gently turn toward the mother within us and honor, empower, and embrace her. 🥰🙏

Allowing our systems to rest and unwind...to release and rejuvenate...to reconnect and recalibrate....is so essential as women. And, yet, many of us have difficulty allowing ourselves to do so.

Perhaps it's societal conditioning, our own stories around productivity/worth/guilt....perhaps it's fear that if we really give ourselves permission to unwind and rest that the chips of our lives will fall. It can be scary to sink so deeply into our bodies and hearts and allow our nervous systems to unwind and settle....

Yet, it is critical to our functioning and sustainability. From that restful place we gain access to infinite insights, clarity, and power. Doing so in the safe container of community is next level expansion.

The practice of deep, embodied, unwinding yoga and rest is a vital component of our retreats (alongside the dance and movement). This picture did not make it into last weeks REEL yet is so important to make sure that it is closely aligned with the curriculum that is the foundation of the Embody Life Retreats.

We ALL need the unwinding and rejuvenation (some more than others, of course). The retreat environment is a wonderful way of being wrapped in the container of this transformational practice and to soften and open to new possibilities.

Our Fall Retreat (Falling Into Self in Community) registration is open and beginning to fill.

Magic happens when women gather in safe, supportive, accepting containers of community. Retreat spaces allow women to shed layers of armor and BE HUMAN together in a way that is deeply magnified.

I have facilitated retreats in various forms for over 10 years, and in recent years have developed a curriculum that is profoundly transformational on an embodied level—supporting women in accessing layers of themselves that may have been stifled, suppressed, repressed, or ignored.

Getting into the body, softening and opening our hearts, being REAL about who we are, and feeling held in these retreat experiences has been life-changing for so many women.

I am excited about a new venue we will be gathering at this fall—SageStone Adventure Lodge—set in an absolutely gorgeous part of our amazing state of Colorado.

This retreat is intentionally abbreviated to make it more accessible and affordable. I understand firsthand how difficult it can be for some women to step away from their lives, even for a long weekend.

I wanted to create an opportunity for women needing a retreat, a reset, a moment to truly drop in with themselves...hence our Fall Retreat (Friday evening through Sunday late morning).

Everyone needs someone on their team. ❤️‍🩹

The past few years have made that even more clear—how vital support and connection truly are.

We are not meant to do this alone.

My decade plus as a single mom taught me this in a very real way. I knew what it felt like to need support… and not always have access to it.

And I also experienced the quiet generosity of people who showed up in ways that truly mattered.

That impacted me deeply and has stayed with me.

Because the truth is—not everyone can afford coaching or therapy…and that does not mean they don’t need support.

We all need a place to land. To be met. To be witnessed. To be connected to ourselves through it all.

So I’m opening my practice in a new way.

✨ 30-minute coaching sessions via Zoom ✨

A more accessible way to stay supported—with regular check-ins, presence, accountability, and connection.

Offered weekly or bi-weekly to stay in rhythm with your life.

If this feels aligned, I would love to connect 🤍

I had the opportunity to spend some quality 1:1 time with my boy this past weekend. My mom is sick and we went to hang out with my parents for a few days on his Spring Break.

While not all of connect time was positive (he IS a teenager!), we did take a walk one afternoon around the city just the 2 of us....without phones out...and just talked...

It was a moment along my path of motherhood that deeply warmed my heart, grounded and anchored me with him, brought hope and excitement of new possibilities, AND also grave concern for the future of this world for our children.

I greatly appreciated my sons ability to articulate factually the outrage that these youth are feeling as they witness "a bunch of old guys destroying the planet" (in Kai's words).

That they won't even be around much longer and that they are causing extreme harm to this planet that our children will inherit is so heartbreaking.

He was well-informed about all that is transpiring...

I am grateful for these moments of connection, vulnerability, and deep sharing with him...fleeting these days and I hold them close to my heart.

I left our conversation even more motivated and inspired to do whatever I can to RESIST and to stay verbal and visible in this FIGHT AGAINST FASCISM....our children need us to do so.

Raising a teenager in these times is no cakewalk. I am definitely in it in so many ways. I honor all of the parents out there in the thick of this journey....holding steady in themselves so that we may continuously hold space for them and their process.

New Moon Blessings to you all,
Alison 🌑💫❤️‍🔥
