Center for Medicinal Mindfulness

Center for Medicinal Mindfulness Leaders in Mindfulness-Based Psychedelic Therapy and Training since 2012 Medicinal Mindfulness is not only a psychedelic therapy center.

Our team founded and pioneered effective and innovative modalities called Cannabis-Assisted Psychedelic Therapy and Cannabis-Assisted Psychotherapy, and we have been professionally trained in MDMA-Assisted Psychotherapy and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy by leaders in the field. We are now deepening our practice under the broader umbrella of Mindfulness-Based Psychedelic Therapy, a psychedelic th

erapy practice that is based in self-acceptance, awareness of the present moment, and is transpersonally oriented. The Center for Medicinal Mindfulness has since become an established leader in the emerging field of Psychedelic Therapy. Our practitioners provide a number of services, including Cannabis-Assisted and Ketamine-Assisted Psychedelic Therapies, harm reduction and integration work, individual psychotherapy and large group retreats and training programs. In addition to a six-office psychotherapy suite in Boulder, Colorado, our center provides experiences in private retreat locations and at a large cannabis-friendly private yoga facility just outside the city, all in full compliance of Colorado cannabis law and zoning requirements. We offer outdoor psychedelic therapy sessions as well, in a beautiful and secluded natural area which offers a peaceful and contemplative setting for clients as well as additional safety during COVID-19. We are also an intentional community which promotes safe and intentional medicine use practices for personal and global healing and transformation.

Some psychedelic experiences stay with us long after the journey ends—not as clear narratives, but as images, sensations, emotions, and symbols that continue unfolding over time.

At Medicinal Mindfulness, we often incorporate art-based practices into psychedelic preparation, sessions, and integration because not everything meaningful can be processed through language alone.

This experiential workshop explores how facilitators can work more skillfully with symbolic, imaginal, and non-verbal material in ethical, grounded, and clinically informed ways.

Co-facilitated by Medicinal Mindfulness co-founder Alison McQueen and art therapist Dr. Michael Franklin.

Most people think psychedelic facilitation is entirely focused on the client.

But an experienced facilitator is also paying close attention to their own nervous system, breath, grounding, and presence throughout the session.

Because how a facilitator shows up directly shapes the container.

This is one of the many things we explore and teach in our Psychedelic Guide Training + NMHA Facilitator Training programs.

Holding space is only part of the story.

Our upcoming workshops are designed to help facilitators expand their skillsets in practical, grounded, and deeply experiential ways, from crisis response and harm reduction to art-based integration tools for working with symbolic and non-verbal material.

Upcoming trainings include:
• Psychedelic First Aid (June 6–7) - Boulder, CO
• Art-Based Skills for Psychedelic Facilitators (July 18–19) - Online and In-person (Boulder, CO)

All courses and workshops are open to students from anywhere in the world, regardless of whether you've trained with us.

As we close the year, we want to congratulate our latest cohort of students!

Our students have officially completed the didactic portion of their facilitator training, and now begin the next phase of becoming licensed Natural Medicine Facilitators: immersive experiential practicums and a year of group consultation + mentorship.

This work requires courage, humility, and heart.

We’re honored to walk alongside them as they grow into the next generation of mindful, ethical psychedelic guides. 🌿

Drop some love in the comments for this incredible cohort. đź’™
