Today was a great day to BE SEEN in Indianapolis! 💙🧡

We were so excited to take part in our first Get Your Rear in Gear Indianapolis event with the Colon Cancer Coalition!

There’s something powerful about seeing a community come together to raise awareness, honor those impacted by colorectal cancer, and remind people that early detection saves lives.

Thank you, Indianapolis, for showing up, getting moving, and helping us spread the message. We loved being part of it and can’t wait to do it again! 💙

Fierce women. Firey women. Gloria Steinem. Judy Rice. Jo Trakimas. Molly Sapp. Nina Helen Watterson. Liz Healy. Debbie Grecco. Women who used their voices before it was comfortable to do so. People who made room where there wasn’t room. Humans who didn’t just rise, but reached back and lifted others with them.

Gloria Steinem changed the standard for what women could say, demand, question and become. She reminded generations of women that our stories matter. That our voices matter. And that progress only happens when we are brave enough to keep pushing.

And Judy Rice showed us something different, but equally powerful. She believed deeply in the details. She could look at something in real time, see what others might miss and tell you exactly what could make it better. Her feedback was immediate because her standards were clear. She knew that great beauty doesn’t just happen. It is created through care, candor and the willingness to keep refining until every detail feels right. Judy elevated people because she believed they were capable of more. And she stuck by their sides every step of the way.

She didn’t hold that knowledge tightly. She gave it away. She taught. She pushed. She made the work better and the people around her better.

That is what fierce women do. They don’t just leave behind accomplishments. They leave behind standards.

And when women like Gloria and Judy leave us, it is tempting to simply look backward and celebrate what they did. But I think they are asking something more of us.

They are passing the torch. To us.

There is still work to do. The torch is ours now.

Pick it up and dance.

Today, Be Seen Foundation is sharing my story. The real one — the one I haven’t told this openly before. 💙

Stage IV cancer. A second ostomy. A permanent drain. Ten months without eating. Chemo. All of it happening while we were expecting our daughter through our surrogate.

Sharing this has been one of the most vulnerable things I’ve done. It’s been therapeutic for me — but if it helps even one person feel less alone in their own hardest chapter, that’s the whole point.

I want my kids to grow up knowing exactly how hard I fought to be here for all of it — the big milestones and the ordinary Tuesdays alike.

Endless gratitude to the bracelet-making workshop that first brought me into this community, and to Marisa and everyone at Be Seen for giving me the space to tell this part of my story.

Moments that matter are won long before the final out.

They’re built in the practices no one remembers. The early mornings. The extra reps. The games that ended in disappointment. The rides long and far with your family.
The moments you wondered if all the hard work would ever pay off.

Resilience is choosing to come back.
Patience is trusting that growth is happening, even when you can’t yet see it.
Perseverance is showing up again anyway.

This team never stopped believing in each other. They earned every inning, every comeback, every celebration.

What a privilege it is to watch young people learn that some of life’s greatest victories come to those willing to keep going. And to the coaches, mentors and fans that fine tune every step of the way. Dream big cooperstowndreampark .

Today the The Washington Post and Erica Sloan elevated the reality of early onset colorectal cancer to the headlines.

We’ll be seeing it again and again, unfortunately, as the rise of people in their 20s, 30s and 40s climbs.

So grateful to Sage Collins and Colorectal Cancer Alliance for sharing her story bravely-it’s not easy to share out loud. And for our founder of the BE SEEN Movement, Marisa Meyer Peters and Kimmie Ng on our medical advisory council, for fearlessly leading the early-onset mission. This disease better be scared because our movement is coming.

Some say the sign of a true friend is encouraging you to be your best self. That notion materialized for Jenny when her good friend shared a postcard serving as a reminder to be screened for colorectal cancer. They spoke about prevention and, much to Jenny’s surprise, she learned not only how it’s important, but that it’s very easy! To keep the conversation on the forefront of her mind and ensure it not be forgotten, Jenny kept the postcard on her dresser.
