🚨 More than 20 million Americans are overdue for colorectal cancer screening, and colorectal cancer is now the number 1 cancer killer of people under 50.

To help address this growing concern, the American Cancer Society is expanding screening recommendations to include more options beyond traditional colonoscopies, making screening more accessible for more people.

Early detection saves lives, and screening recommendations may vary based on your personal and family history. Talk to your healthcare provider about the screening option that’s right for you.

A Colorectal Cancer survivor, mother, and grandmother, Hillary Foster has witnessed firsthand the devastation brought on by a late diagnosis.

By age 40, Hillary had recently moved into a new home, her children were thriving, and her first grandbaby was on the way! It should have been a season of full, joyful life. Less than a year later, she was diagnosed with Stage 3B and later Stage 4 Re**al Cancer. Suddenly, life became a cycle of appointments, tests, and uncertainty.

JJ Singleton is an advocate, patient, and relentless warrior who has turned his 10-year cancer journey into a beacon of hope for others.

In college, JJ was a passionate football player whose career sadly ended due to too many concussions. Time passed after he left the sport, and before he knew it, he weighed 315 pounds at the start of 2015. This realization motivated him to get back to working out and eating right; he started seeing progress soon after his commitment to a healthy lifestyle. He was set up with a steady job and the perfect life, or so it seemed. Throbbing abdominal pain started to plague him. Initially, JJ chalked it up as a result of his workouts, as he did the significant weight loss. But then, he noticed blood in his stools. Still, he was adamant he could “tough it out.” After all, he was only 27.

7 when her father passed of esophageal and stomach cancer.

43 when she had her first colonoscopy and precancerous polyps were removed.

46 when she pushed to have a second colonoscopy & more precancerous polyps removed.

47 and thriving.

In Daniela’s case, advocating for herself meant paying attention when something didn’t feel right and choosing not to ignore it. It meant asking questions, pushing for answers, and getting screened even when life felt busy and overwhelming. Most importantly, it meant trusting her instincts and prioritizing her health — not just for her, but for her family.
