With all the health advice out there, what actually matters?

We’re being told to do ALL THE THINGS — while also being sold the idea that there might be one big answer.

There isn’t.

What matters is starting with the science-backed foundations, then personalizing them to your body, your life and what you’re actually noticing and experiencing. And yes — your mindset matters, too.

That’s the idea behind RESTORE Circle: six weeks to learn, experiment, pay attention and build a foundation that works for you — alongside other women doing the same.

Early enrollment ends September 7. Details at the link in my bio.

More fiber isn’t always the answer.

Constipated? Eat more fiber.

Bloated? You probably need more fiber.

Want a healthier gut? Definitely more fiber.

Fiber is incredibly important for digestive health, metabolic health, hormone balance and our gut microbiome.

But digestive symptoms are information—and sometimes they’re telling us to look beyond fiber.

Straining or incomplete emptying, for example, can have many contributors: hydration, pelvic-floor coordination, changes in intestinal motility, digestive enzymes and stomach acid, medications or supplements, stress, disrupted circadian rhythms—and yes, sometimes the amount or type of fiber you’re eating.

And adding more and more fiber when your digestive system is already struggling can sometimes make you feel worse, not better.

In today’s Second Spring, I’m looking beneath the surface of some common digestive signals—and what they may be trying to tell us.

Because good gut health isn’t about chasing a perfect microbiome. It’s about understanding and building a more resilient digestive system.

Your body may not handle the same exact meal the same at 8 am as 8 pm. I know… this seems to go against the whole obsession with WHAT to eat to reflect more on WHEN to eat.

this morning at we explored how Circadian rhythms impact sleep, energy, weight, metabolic health, digestion, inflammation and immunity.

For one thing, eating early time-restricted eating may be more beneficial for some. Controlled trials found improvements in glucose tolerance and other markers of metabolic health.

What if what you do earlier in the day impacts problems later? Many common eating, exercise and sleep patterns -and problems- can be addressed by reflecting on your morning habits and routine.

Let’s dig into this science together in the latest issue of Second Spring. link in bio.

Spoiler: the answer isn’t “stop eating at 4 pm” I promise.

August is one of my favorite times to cook because the ingredients don’t need much help.

Fresh zucchini, basil, lemon, Parmesan, and a little olive oil come together quickly to create a meal that’s simple, satisfying, and full of flavor.

As I wrote in the # recent issue of Second Spring, learning to listen to our bodies doesn’t always begin with a big change. Sometimes it begins by slowing down enough to prepare a nourishing meal, noticing how it makes us feel, and appreciating what’s growing around us.

What’s your favorite way to use all that summer zucchini, eggplant and squash? I’d love to add a few new ideas to my kitchen.

Lately I’ve been wondering… what if one of the most important health skills isn’t learning more… but noticing more?

Women have never had access to more health information. We can track sleep and blood sugar and heart rate and hormones and so much more but still “I don’t feel like myself” continues to be the most important and often overlooked marker.

Maybe the forgotten step in so many women’s health journeys is becoming more curious about the quiet signals our bodies have been sending us.

This week’s issue of Second Spring explores why learning listen may be one of the most important skills to develop during and after menopause.

I’m curious… what’s one signal your body has been trying to get your attention lately?

Menopause isn’t the end of pleasure—it’s an invitation to rediscover it. ✨

What you eat can directly support your energy, circulation, hormone balance, and yes… your capacity for pleasure.

Think:
🍓 Juicy berries for blood flow and antioxidant support
🥑 Healthy fats to nourish hormones and enhance sensation
🌶️ Spices to awaken circulation and warmth
🌿 Leafy greens for nitric oxide and vitality
🦪 Zinc-rich foods to support libido, hormone balance, and cellular vitality

Pleasure isn’t just emotional—it’s cellular, physiological, and deeply nourished.

This is your time to feel more… not less.

If this resonates with you… join us this Sunday 3/22 for an afternoon workshop Awaken to Your Pleasure led by pelvic floor therapist and s*x therapist and featuring fun conversation, movement, creating your own pleasure board and of course… restorative foods and drinks.

Mocktails. Yes please , but make them supportive ✨

Not just “no alcohol” — intentionally adding in:• minerals for nervous system calm• botanicals that cue safety + relaxation• blood-sugar steadying ingredients• gentle hydration that supports deeper sleep

A small, steady way to love ourselves:choosing rituals that care for our hormones, our nervous systems, and the woman we’re becoming.

Because what we add in matters just as much as what we take out.
