Crunches won't fix a middle "p**f". You need to train your deep core muscles.

We know that in the menopause transition, there is a shift in fat distribution toward the midsection. This is driven primarily by hormonal changes rather than just simple aging.

The "menopause belly" is the result of a double whammy: the loss of estrogen changes where you store fat (moving from the hips/thighs to the belly), while the loss of muscle mass and changes in insulin sensitivity change how easily you gain fat.

There is also a loss of deep abdominal "tonicity" so instead of endless crunches, try focusing on "bracing" your core instead.

Exercises like the Dead Bug (above) are a great start!

I was that woman who had it all figured out.
Teaching fitness classes, eating healthy, never missing a workout.

Then I hit 52 and my body basically said "nope, we're done with this program."
My pants got tighter. My energy crashed every afternoon. My sleep became a joke.
𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘦𝘥.

How do you tell your clients you can't figure out your own health?
I kept pushing harder - more cardio, fewer calories, stricter meal plans.
My body kept pushing back - more fatigue, more weight around my middle, more brain fog.

The moment I made that shift? Everything changed.
My energy stabilized. The weight started coming off. My sleep improved.
