What if your reflux doesn’t feel like heartburn at all?

In this podcast, Brandy and Kara explain why reflux can show up as throat clearing, mucus, post-nasal drip, trouble swallowing, or even enamel issues — and why those “small” symptoms may be worth paying attention to. They also break down how reflux can progress over time, what might be making it worse, and the food and lifestyle changes that can help.

If you’ve been dealing with symptoms that don’t quite make sense, this episode may connect some important dots.

🚨 Stressed… and gaining belly fat?

It may not just be calories. It could be cortisol.

When stress stays high for too long, your body releases more cortisol — a hormone linked to:
😴 Poor sleep
🍪 Sugar cravings
😵 Brain fog
📈 Belly fat storage

And unfortunately, your body doesn’t know the difference between a hungry lion… and an overflowing inbox. 🦁📱

The good news? Nutrition can help calm your stress response.

✨ Prioritizing protein, healthy fats, balanced blood sugar, and better sleep can make a huge difference.

1️⃣Protein is your friend 🍗 Starting your day with a high-protein, savory breakfast can help support steady energy, better focus, and fewer sugar cravings later in the day.

2️⃣ Include fruits and veggies with every meal 🍓🥒 Fiber-rich carbs help keep you full, satisfied, and energized while supporting balanced blood sugar.

3️⃣ Limit sweets to dessert 🍪 Enjoying treats after meals instead of grazing on them throughout the day may help reduce cravings and prevent blood sugar spikes.

Small habits add up — and having the right support makes all the difference. 💙

✨ Our Accelerated Nutrition 4 Weight Loss online program starts June 1! Learn how to reduce cravings, balance blood sugar, improve energy, and create sustainable weight loss habits that actually last.

One of the greatest lessons Dar taught us?
💙 Truly listen to people.

Not just their symptoms. Not just their lab work. But their story, their struggles, and what they’re really going through.

During Founder’s Week, we’re reflecting on the wisdom Dar shared with so many of our dietitians and nutrition educators over the years — lessons that still shape the way we care for clients today.

Her belief in the power of real food and compassionate listening continues to impact lives every single day. ✨

Thank you, Dar, for building something so meaningful and for teaching us that helping people starts with listening.

🚨 “It’s not your willpower — it’s chemistry.”

One of the biggest myths in health is that food cravings mean you “lack discipline.”

Ultra-processed foods are specifically designed to keep you coming back for more through the perfect mix of sugar, fat, salt, and texture. 🍟🍪🥤

That constant dopamine stimulation can change:
➡️ Your cravings
➡️ Your taste preferences
➡️ Your energy
➡️ Your mood

But your brain CAN adapt back to real food. 🙌

Many people find that after eating more protein and less processed food, soda tastes too sweet and junk food loses its appeal.

Freedom from cravings starts with balancing your brain chemistry. 💙
