People see a $95 massage and assume the therapist is taking home $95.

We wish it worked that way. 🩵

The reality is, a “60-minute massage” is rarely just 60 minutes of work.

Massage therapy is deeply rewarding work — but it’s also physically demanding. For many therapists, 20–30 hands-on hours a week is considered full time because of the wear it puts on our bodies. And those hands-on hours don’t include:

• laundry
• sanitizing and disinfecting
• charting and client notes
• booking, scheduling, and marketing
• supplies like oils, creams, sheets, detergent, hot towels, tools and equipment
• continuing education and licensing fees
• self-care so we can continue doing this work long term
• rent, utilities, software subscriptions, payment processing fees, and taxes

On a $95 massage session, after taxes, processing fees, overhead supplies, and business expenses, actual take home is usually closer to around $44-$55 per session depending on the day and what all goes into it.

We do this work because we genuinely care about helping people feel better. But we also think it’s important for clients to understand that every appointment supports much more.

When you book a session with us, you’re not simply paying for an hour on the table.

You’re investing in experience, education, preparation, compassion, and therapists who genuinely care about helping people feel better every single day. 🩵

This morning I stopped at 7 Brew Coffee before starting my day.

While I was waiting for my drinks, I noticed the girl handing out drinks in my line just looked exhausted. You know those moments where someone doesn’t have to say anything… but you can just tell they’re carrying a lot?

So I sparked up a conversation with her.

A few minutes later, she shared a few things that were causing her a lot of stress and exhaustion.

And honestly, it was such a good reminder:

People are carrying so much more than we realize.

At Royal Table, massage has never just been about muscles, tension, or checking a self-care box. Sometimes people simply need a place where they can breathe, feel cared for, and let someone take care of them for a change.

The world moves fast. People are tired. And kindness matters more than we think it does.

We are not just a place people book appointments.
We want to be a place people remember because of how we made them feel. 💛

So today:
Pay attention to people.
Notice body language.
Spark conversations.
Lead with kindness.

Community means showing up for one another — and we’re proud of these three guys for doing exactly that. 💙

Today, they volunteered their time to provide chair massages at the Avera Race Against Cancer.

We’re grateful to be part of a community that comes together to support, encourage, and care for one another. Thank you to Avera for allowing us to be a small part of such a meaningful day.
