The way we breathe affects every cell in our body. This is such an integral part of a successful myofunctional therapy program, so I love that she is "getting it!"

When you come see me, I will help make it easier to breathe through your nose, and you will learn to use your diaphragm for optimal benefits.

Take this moment to take a nice slow breath in through your nose and then out of your nose.

Then, thank yourself for taking the time to care for your health.🤍

Does myofunctional therapy work alongside braces and orthodontic treatment? Yes and it makes both more effective. 💡

In fact, patients who complete myofunctional therapy before starting orthodontics often spend less time in braces and experience significantly less relapse afterward.

The tongue exerts more daily pressure on the teeth than braces ever could. Until the tongue's resting posture and swallowing pattern are corrected, that pressure works against whatever the orthodontist is trying to achieve.

I actively collaborates with local orthodontists in Wichita to provide coordinated, comprehensive care for shared patients.

Save this if your child is in orthodontic treatment or preparing to start.

Sleep isn't just rest. It's when your child's brain consolidates learning, regulates emotions, and releases growth hormone. 🌱

When sleep is disrupted by airway issues, all of that gets compromised. The child who struggles to focus at school, has big emotional reactions, or seems behind in growth may simply not be getting the quality of sleep their developing brain and body needs.

This is one of the reasons we look at the full picture, not just the snoring or the grinding, but what those symptoms mean for your child's development and daily life.
