Wuji Hundun = Everlasting (Wuji) Chaos (Hundun)

The Wuji Hundun qigong set is one that gives us movements and energetic tools to help deal with the unlimited chaos of the world we inhabit. Passed down through the generations for the last 800 years, the Wuji Hundun qigong set was, until recently, reserved solely for the royal family of China, and those entrusted with their personal safety.

I was first exposed to Wuji Hundun roughly 9 months ago - and immediately fell in love. I have learned so much from this qigong - on both a personal and professional level. This set has allowed me to connect with myself and my body on an ever-deepening level, it has taught me to see clearly, to hold my boundaries, to stay open, and given me movements I can practice at need for a variety of reasons - to help my digestion, to help relieve brain fog, to boost energy, to increase my flexibility and strength, and to relax and settle in.

I have also used certain movements from this qigong set to develop a Shoulder Series Protocol. The pilot wrapped up just over a week ago, and the results are clear - with hard work, it can be possible to regain movement and function in the shoulders - by using qigong. And while you might be focused on the physical opening of the shoulders, you're also training your energy body to a deeper way of moving and flowing - and gaining energetic tools to help mitigate some of the chaos that might have you feeling like you're carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders...

Today, I start the 6-month online certification course to become a certified teacher of this qigong set.

If you've been in my classes recently, you know I've already begun teaching some of these movements (Sunrise & Sunset, anyone??), and I've already been able to use this qigong set to help my clients regain better shoulder mobility.

So why am I taking this certification course? Because I know that no matter how well I feel I've learned, danced, and felt into a form or set - I can always go deeper. I can always deepen my practice and relationship with any of the forms I know, practice, and teach. And I have the opportunity to do so while guided by an incredibly knowledgeable Qigong Master, Daisy Lee. (And I get to spend time with qigong friends, adjunct professors, and have an opportunity to learn so much more! 😍)

Today, I start the 6-month certification course to become a certified teacher of this important qigong set. I'm currently sitting at the hospital while my mother has her hip replaced - the timing couldn't be more perfect. (Or chaotic!)

Next fall, I will be opening a class to teach the entire 18 movement Wuji Hundun qigong set. Will you be learning tools to help mitigate and flow through the chaos of the world with me? I hope so! Reach out with any questions you might have. ☯️❤️🧘

One of the most-asked questions I receive is "what's the difference between tai chi and qigong?" I always encourage anyone asking to ask every teacher of both arts what the difference is; between all of our combined answers, hopefully the student can gain an understanding... But - here is my (current) answer.

Tai Chi originated as a martial art; there are 5 primary family styles that have been passed down through the generations for the last (documented) 400-500 years.

Qigong, meaning "chi cultivation", began in rural China about 4000 years ago; it began as imitation of animals in their natural world for the purposes of health. There are many styles - some still being developed to this day, but others carry more ancient lineage.

Tai Chi focuses more on the physical body; how the weight is shifted, the proper alignment of the spine, stepping and moving in certain ways to open up qi flow. Being grounded and moving from a wuji posture is often emphasized.

Qigong focuses more on the energy body, using physical movements - also done from a grounded wuji position - to lead and guide the qi around the body. Movements can be small, or expansive.

In tai chi, movements are linear. They flow from one posture into the next without pause, in prescribed forms.

In qigong, movements are more likely to be repeated before moving onto another posture. While there are sets and forms, they're often shorter than many tai chi forms.

I usually consider tai chi to be a more grounding, and therefore yin practice. I often think of qigong as a more yang practice, since it focuses more on the energy body. But - as with all things in the natural world, there are no absolutes.

Wondering if tai chi or qigong is a better fit for you? Try both and see! Have other questions? Drop them below and I'll do my best to answer them from my perspective! ☯️❤️🧘

What?! An actual post by Tai Chi Healing Energies that's not just a reshare of something MoveMentation has posted?! 😱 It's been entirely too long since I've honored TCHE for the individual business that it is, and this post is meant to readdress some of that neglect!!

If you're new here - hi! 👋 I'm Adrian, and the overarching balance that dynamic movement of energy through our bodies brings about is what I'm called to share with our world, all while deepening my own practices through experience.

I do this by teaching tai chi and qigong as movement modalities (I now do a lot of that teaching through MoveMentation, so please follow me there as well!), and through my clinical practice, where I primarily work with frequency medicine to augment physical movement. Not only do I use the frequencies gifted to me directly by the Earth herself (that's another story for another day, and can be compared to "reiki" in that reiki is a healing frequency, as are the specific frequencies I use...) I utilize a frequency generator, binaural beats, and what I call targeted red light therapy (meaning I can change/control the frequency the red light therapy is expressed at) to help create energetic movement. I also teach my clients various tai chi and qigong movements and practices to help them keep their energy flowing in between sessions with me.

So! That's a little bit about me, and what I do! In the near future, I'll be sharing a bit more about some of what I've been up to and growing into this summer. Grumpy, stiff shoulders beware! I'm coming for you! (And many of my trial Shoulder Series Protocol attendees will agree!) I'll also be sharing more about a qigong set that was specifically created to give actionable movements to combat the chaos that's a part of the natural world.

For now, I'll leave you with this final thought...

When energy/chi flows, your body can spend more time at ease. When energy stagnates, we experience a variety of dis-eases within the body. How are you treating and supporting your body? ☯️

Feel free to reach out with any comments or questions you might have! About energy, my services, and the importance of movement... ❤️
