Binding is part of how some people feel at home in their body.
That matters.

What matters just as much is understanding how your body responds to it.

The longer and tighter the compression, the more it can affect breathing, circulation, skin health, muscle tension, and lymphatic flow.

Things worth paying attention to:
💜 Shallow breathing or rib tension
💙 Rashes or irritation, especially in heat
💚 Chest pain or bruising that doesn’t resolve
💛 Deep marks from compression
🧡 Not giving your body breaks or recovery time

Binding is not recommended for sleeping, and using proper binders instead of bandages or improvised compression is much safer for you.

For Pride week, I’ll be hosting a FREE online Breast & Chest Massage Self-Care class for q***r folks focused on education, body awareness, and supportive care.
🗓️ Jun 23

I’ll also be attending the Pride Parade, and I hope you’ll find me and introduce yourself there. I’d love to connect, hear your story, and continue building safer, more supportive spaces for people to ask questions and feel more at home in their bodies. 🌈

Which of these have you heard cause breast cancer?

Most people have heard at least one.

And not everyone knows what’s true and what isn’t.
So they worry, avoid, and unintentionally pass the myths along.

My next email breaks down what the research actually says
about what does and does not increase your breast cancer risk.

If you want it, send me your email or join the list through the link in bio.

Nearly 30 years.

That's how long I've been doing this work. And the thing that still surprises me, what this practice keeps teaching me, is how rarely people feel like they're allowed to ask questions about their own body.

They come in apologizing. They preface questions with “I know this is probably nothing.” They’ve been sitting on concerns for months, sometimes years, because no one gave them a space where it felt safe to ask.

That's what Sephira Healing was built for.

Not just the therapy. The permission to ask in the first place.

If you've been sitting on a question, this is your invitation.

A lot of people have questions about their body they don’t feel safe asking.

Sometimes because:
❤️ They think they should already know
🧡 They don’t feel represented in traditional health conversations
💛 They’ve been misunderstood before
💚 They’re worried about being judged

They can sit on those questions for years. Sometimes until they can't anymore.

This month at Sephira Healing, we're talking about it openly.

Because breast and chest health isn’t just “women’s health.”
And you don’t have to explain your body to deserve care.

We put together a guide written for every body —
what’s normal, what to notice, and where to start.

Most Registered Massage Therapists graduate with strong training in the musculoskeletal system. Breast and chest tissue, however, is an area that many therapists receive very little instruction in. It’s an area that’s most often avoided.

As a result, people who are dealing with post-surgical recovery, lymphatic congestion, scar tissue, or chest wall tension often struggle to find a massage therapist who feels confident working in this area.

That gap in training can limit access to care that many people genuinely need.

I have spent nearly 30 years building specialization in breast and chest massage therapy, lymphatic drainage, and oncology-informed care. I have also spent years teaching other RMTs how to work in this area with confidence, competence, and clear consent practices.

If you are an RMT who would like to expand your practice into breast and chest care in a way that is ethical, skilled, and within scope, join the waiting list for my next class.
