Reiki is a method of mindfulness, meditation, AND healing 🫂
Its true that many turn to Reiki for pain management, discomforts, and stress relief. The real ease, though, comes from the comfort in receiving and the gradual learning of how to hold yourself & others.
As a practitioner I've witnessed people realize that their pain has completely disappeared, or that the shoulder they injured hasn't bothered them in months.
Folk who struggle with sleep having rest they haven't experienced in years, or the ones swallowed by fear that doze off on the table 💤
They call it a miracle, but I see the principles having been in action in their lives. I notice the gradual shift in the way they treat themselves, the kindness they learn, the patience they've grown.
It's no miracle that our suffering can reduce when we learn to breathe, hold ourselves, maintain boundaries, and simply be. In some ways, I guess that's a miracle in and of itself -- a soft comfort.

To my fellow practitioners dedicated to doing good work with Reiki and upholding their lineage:
Keep going. Our communities and the world need Reiki now more than ever before. Turn to the symbols and principles as those torches that burn when you feel low, and continue to light the way for others through modeling good character — even if that means just holding someone and breathing.
Each gaze, hand held, and exhale can be a movement & healing with Reiki
In times of suffering, and when the system tries to rob you of empathy, remember your attunements, and all the hands that have held you and will hold you. Remember Gassho and the promises you've made to yourself and others
Lastly, kindly educate others when they try to disregard your practice as not enough or simple energy healing. Tell them of your lineage and the story of how Reiki practice found you. Share with them the principles.
