There was plenty happening in the Enrichment Center kitchen in our Memphis Community as everyone rolled up their sleeves for cooking class! This time, the group worked together to prepare homemade tuna salad, with everyone getting a chance to mix, measure, season, and be part of the process.

Cooking together gives residents an opportunity to practice everyday skills, express themselves, and most importantly, enjoy time with one another. And for our families, we love being able to share a glimpse of these everyday moments with the people you love. 💙

Great job, EC crew! Now the only question is… what are we cooking next? 🍳⏲️

Residents at our Nashville Community dressed to impress for the community's annual Sneaker Ball. The event is a favorite each year, offering residents a chance to get dressed up, hit the dance floor and celebrate together.

From dresses paired with fresh sneakers to button-downs and freshly shined kicks, personal style was on full display. It remains one of the highlights of the year and this year was no exception.

Person centered care means supporting the everyday choices that make up a person's identity, not just the big milestones. Recently, staff at Open Arms Care arranged for a tattoo artist to visit a resident's home so he could pursue something he had wanted for some time, in an environment where he felt at ease.

Self determination is a right, not a privilege, and it's a value we work to uphold in the small moments as much as the large ones.

Open Arms Care Nashville's team continues to build the skills and confidence needed to support individuals with high behavioral needs through PCM (Professional Crisis Management) training. We are proud to invest in training that equips our staff with the knowledge and techniques to provide safe compassionate and effective care.

Continuing a comfort-filled tradition!

Open Arms Care Knoxville continued their partnership with the Love on a Leash® pet therapy program, welcoming back some familiar furry friends: Derby, Bonnie and Guess!

These therapy dog visits bring smiles, laughter and a little extra comfort every time. Pet therapy is more than just cute company. It's proven to reduce stress, lower blood pressure and boost overall well-being.

A huge thank you to the Love on a Leash® volunteers and their amazing therapy animals for continuing to share their time and compassion with our community. We can't wait to see you again soon!
