Men get massages too — but not as often as you might expect.
Men are a significantly underrepresented population in therapeutic massage. The hesitation usually comes down to unfamiliarity with the spa environment, not knowing what to expect, or a cultural narrative that positions self-care as not particularly masculine.
Here's the reality: Men typically carry significant muscular tension — particularly in the neck, upper back, and shoulders — due to physical work, desk posture, driving, and chronic stress that often goes unaddressed. Men are statistically less likely to seek healthcare proactively.
Therapeutic massage addresses physical pain, stress, and nervous system regulation simultaneously — without a doctor's referral or a significant lifestyle change. The physiological benefits of massage (cortisol reduction, muscle recovery, improved sleep) are identical regardless of gender.
You don't need to know spa vocabulary. You don't need to do anything except show up and tell us where it hurts. We take care of the rest.
