Eating less isn’t always the answer. Eating better is.

Instead of focusing on cutting calories, focus on what your food gives you: protein, fiber, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals that support steady energy, balanced blood sugar, and a healthy metabolism.

A smaller plate isn’t automatically a healthier one. Build meals that actually nourish you, and make every bite count.

Your metabolism isn't just "fast" or "slow", it adapts based on how you're eating, sleeping, and stressing your body over time.

That adaptation is a survival mechanism: when your body senses restriction or chronic stress, it holds onto energy instead of burning it, which is why the same habits that used to "work" stop working.

This is also why crash diets backfire long-term: you might see a quick drop on the scale, but you're teaching your metabolism to slow down even further.

Feeling low on energy? It might be time to take a closer look at your iron intake.

From oysters and beef liver to lentils, tofu, and white beans, there are plenty of ways to add more iron to your plate. Just remember: plant-based iron is easier to absorb when paired with vitamin C, think lentils with tomatoes or spinach with a squeeze of lemon.

Save this list for your next grocery run!

Your metabolic health is basically your body’s credit score.

The best time to invest in it was 10 years ago. The second best time is now. 👀

Because your metabolism isn’t built overnight. It’s the result of your daily habits, stress, sleep, movement, muscle, nutrition, and how your body responds over time.

That’s why we created Metabolism Ignite, to support your metabolic health at the root, not just cover up symptoms or chase quick fixes.

Small choices compound. Your metabolism notices all of them.

As summer winds down, it’s normal to feel a little out of routine after the trips, dinners out, and long weekends. But you don’t need a detox or a drastic reset; you just need to return to the basics.

Start by prioritizing protein, replenishing your hydration, and adding fiber-rich foods back into your meals.

No restriction. Just simple nutrition habits that help you feel like yourself again heading into fall. Save this for your post-vacation reset.

The number on the scale isn’t the whole story.

We asked Rue Laka, MD, DABOM about the biggest mistake she sees with GLP-1s, and it’s not what you’d expect. Her answer gets into something most people don’t think about until it’s too late.

Thank you Rue Laka, MD, DABOM helping us cut through the noise on this topic!

Cardio has its place, but it’s not the metabolism lever most women think it is. The tissue that actually determines how many calories you burn at rest is muscle, and a lot of cardio-heavy routines are quietly under-fueled on protein, which makes it harder to build or even maintain that muscle over time.

This matters more as you get older, since muscle mass naturally declines with age unless you’re actively working to preserve it. Less muscle means a lower resting metabolic rate, regardless of how many miles you log.

Autoimmune conditions are being diagnosed more frequently, and there isn’t one single reason why. Environmental exposures, chronic stress, hormonal factors, and genetics may all play a role.

Understanding the potential “why” is the first step toward better supporting your health. Thank you, Rue Laka, MD, DABOM , for sharing your expertise!
