Interdisciplinary Association for Population Health Science - IAPHS Fostering scientific innovation and discovery to improve the health of populations and reduce health disparities.

The mission of IAPHS is to improve the health of populations by advancing and communicating population health science. The IAPHS achieves its mission by:

- Supporting conferences, workshops, and resources that create a shared professional space for scientists from different disciplinary backgrounds, fostering communication and collaboration to strengthen research addressing complex population hea

lth problems involving multiple systems, and supporting the professional development of early-career population health scientists;

- Providing opportunities for scientists to connect with stakeholders, decision-makers and practitioners to encourage knowledge exchange that can improve both research and evidence-based strategies for population health improvement; and

- Increasing the visibility of population health science by communicating advances in scientific knowledge to multiple audiences and promoting the importance of population health research.

Each year, over 15,000 young people age out of foster care without the support they need to thrive. Today, Congress took a monumental step to change that.

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Fostering the Future Act (H.R. 7432) — a bipartisan legislative package that modernizes the John H. Chafee Foster Care Program for Successful Transition to Adulthood.

CSSP and the CARES Initiative applaud Bipartisan Congressional leadership, and thank , , and for their partnership – and join them all in celebrating today’s passage.

As Alexandra Citrin, our Director of Family Autonomy and Child Welfare Policy, said:

“When policymakers listen to young people, advocates, and organizations devoted to implementing research-backed solutions, then common sense policy can reach and transform the lives of young people across the country.”

This is the first step. CSSP reiterates our commitment to advancing solutions that reimagine how policy supports young people in their communities.
