Today’s workout marks 31 months of staying strong in the gym and consistent with my routine. Thirty-one months ago, I made the decision to set a goal of establishing a routine and committing to it. I set this goal because, before this, I struggled with inconsistency. My workouts were on and off, often lasting only four months at a time before falling out of routine. By committing to consistency, I eliminated the guilt, self-criticism, and disappointment that came with failing to meet my fitness goals.
This new mindset allowed me to be more compassionate and understanding with myself. I realized that as long as I put in the effort and honored my commitment, I had achieved something significant—whether or not I hit a specific weight or performance goal. Simply showing up to the gym and staying active was enough.
These 31 months have taught me, and continue to remind me, that growth happens during the journey, not at the destination. The destination and the vision of where you want to be are just tools to help you become the person you need to be to achieve your goals and desires.
My routine has strengthened me spiritually, mentally, and physically through a commitment to prayer, meditation, and strength training. While we may all have different goals when it comes to health and fitness, one thing we can all take away is this: whatever you want to achieve, as long as you are willing to start and commit to it regularly, you can become a happier, healthier, and better version of yourself.
Much love to everyone. If you ever feel you could benefit from my help or the support of our team at Soungui Fitness, we would be more than happy to help you reach your goals.
