While in California last week, I visited two clinics run by past speakers from the International Association for Colon Hydrotherapy annual conference, where I’ll also be presenting virtually this year.

Experiencing treatments firsthand and discussing clinical approaches with other practitioners is one of the most valuable forms of continuing education.

Something many people don’t realize is that colon hydrotherapy as a whole is a largely unregulated industry worldwide. This means practitioners often develop their own techniques, philosophies, and training paths depending on where and how they learned. That reality is exactly why I make a point of visiting other clinics whenever I travel.

Organizations like the International Association for Colon Hydrotherapy have worked to create more structured education in the field, but the profession is still evolving.

As both a nurse and a practitioner, I believe continuing education is essential. Even as an instructor candidate within the International Association for Colon Hydrotherapy, I see tremendous opportunity for our profession to keep growing, improving training, and strengthening standards of care.

During these visits I was able to observe and experience different approaches to:

• intake and assessment
• treatment techniques
• patient comfort during sessions
• open vs closed systems
• post-session education

Every clinic had its own philosophy and strengths.

After giving nearly 2000 colonics at Rewind Wellness, one thing remains true for me:

The best practitioners never stop being students.
Grateful for colleagues who are willing to share knowledge and help push this profession forward.

Spring doesn’t ask us to do more —
it asks us to support what’s already shifting.

Lately, as an I-ACT Instructor Candidate + CIINDE Student Advisor, my work has been deepening around the mind body connection, the nervous system and detoxification. What I’m seeing again and again is this: the body doesn’t release or reset well when it doesn’t feel safe.

This season at Rewind Wellness is about gentle support —
not extremes, not forcing —
just working with your body’s natural rhythm.

You don’t need to “detox” harder this spring.
Your body is already shifting 🌱
After months of winter rhythms—slower digestion, more rest, more inward energy—spring naturally invites a gentle reset.
This is where many people go wrong:
jumping into extremes, restriction, or aggressive cleanses.
But true detoxification isn’t something we force.
It’s something we support.

Lately I’ve been seeing more and more clients navigating gallbladder concerns, and if that’s you, you’re not alone in this.

If you’ve had your gallbladder removed, it makes sense that your digestion might feel different or “off.” Your body is adapting to a new way of processing fats without that steady storage and release of bile, and that can show up as bloating, changes in bowel habits, discomfort after eating, or just a general sense that things aren’t flowing the way they used to.

What I also hear often from clients is that beyond surgery, there isn’t always a lot of guidance offered on how to support the body afterward. And that can feel frustrating, like you’re left to figure it out on your own.
The truth is, your body is incredibly adaptable but it may need a bit more support now.

Simple things like mindful hydration, gentle digestive support (like bitters or enzymes), and supporting liver function can go a long way in helping your system find a new rhythm.

In my practice, I’ve also seen how colon hydrotherapy can be a supportive tool for clients without a gallbladder, helping to reduce stagnation, support motility, and create a bit more ease in the digestive process overall.

Most importantly, if things haven’t felt quite right since surgery, that doesn’t mean this is just “how it has to be.”
There are ways to support your body and you deserve to feel comfortable in your digestion again.
