🌿 From store aisles to farm fields - let's go!

Big news: the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is supporting Clearya's first step into agriculture.

For years, Clearya has made sense of chemical data in millions of consumer products. Now we're pointing the same AI at something new: California's pesticide-use records, which are challenging to gather, interpret, and use in a timely manner.

Our platform, Clearya Insights, will collect them, standardize them, enrich them with specially trained AI, and add safety context from authoritative scientific sources. The result will be data that communities, growers, researchers, and agencies can more easily work with.

We're starting in the San Joaquin Valley, in collaboration with Californians for Pesticide Reform - stay tuned for updates!
Same platform. A whole new field. 🌱

When environmental toxicity and fertility reach the biggest business podcast in the world, you know this is no longer a niche issue.

Legendary investor and environmental philanthropist Jeremy Grantham just sat down with Steven Bartlett on The Diary of a CEO.

More people are waking up to a hard truth: the products we use every day can contain chemicals we would rather avoid.

But most of us are not chemists. And reading ingredient lists is not exactly simple.

That is why Clearya exists. 🙏

Instead of trying to decode every label yourself, you get clearer information right where you shop.

Proud to see Clearya Insights used by NRDC for their new report, "No PFAS, No Problem," which shows a dramatic reduction in PFAS levels in textiles following new laws in California and New York, with major outdoor brands already cutting PFAS in raincoats by 97-99.99%. Kudos! 👏

💡 NRDC subscribed to Clearya Insights, our AI-powered platform, to map how PFAS had been used across the textile market. The platform harmonized fragmented structured and unstructured sources into an actionable dataset, capturing details such as PFAS types, functions, and concentrations, visualized in interactive dashboards.

🙌 Congrats to the authors Shannon Goff (Puebla), MSc, Katie Pelch, and Anna Reade! And thank you to NRDC and Avinash Kar for leveraging Clearya Insights in research that shows what's possible when data-informed regulation meets brands that turn new safety requirements into innovation.

Back in 2018, I sat in a conference room listening to Dr. Leonardo Trasande present his research on endocrine-disrupting chemicals. The science was sharp. The numbers were staggering. $340 billion a year in disease costs in the US alone.

What resonated was more than the data. It was watching a scientist make the invisible undeniable. He showed how chemicals quietly shaping our health were also quietly shaping our future and economy, and that the cost of inaction was no longer theoretical.

A few months later, Clearya was launched, carried on tailwind from conversations like that, which kept reinforcing the same idea: we all need to know what's in our products and have access to simple tools to act on it.

That's why I'm so grateful to hear Dr. Trasande talking about Clearya on the podcast Be Well by Kelly, with Kelly LeVeque, alongside other tools helping people make informed choices. 🙏

In this thoughtful, practical episode, they unpack what the science is showing about microplastics, PFAS, and endocrine disruptors, and how everyday exposures can affect hormones, metabolism, and long-term health.

Thank you Dr. Trasande and Kelly LeVeque for the work you do.

🎬 Netflix just dropped The Plastic Detox, and it's wild!

Six couples struggling with fertility. 90 days. One mission: strip plastics and chemical exposures from their lives to see if it could improve their chances of getting pregnant.

🐣 Spoiler: they took control of what they could, and it WORKED

Led by reproductive epidemiologist Dr. Shanna Swan, the couples ditched plastic food containers, eliminated fragrances, and scrutinized every product.

🥳 In Netflix's follow-up article, couple Eric and Julie shared that "apps like Clearya" alongside other apps help them vet products before purchasing: "It’s empowering to shop with awareness of what you’re putting in or on your body."

💡 This is the moment we're in. People don't just want to be told what's hazardous. We want tools to make our own informed choices. And when we have access to clear information, we can all build new habits.

Big shoutout to Consumer Reports and their investigative reporter Nicole Greenfield for diving into ingredient safety in personal care again! 💚

Consumer Reports just released their latest coverage on chemicals of concern still found in everyday products, and they offered practical advice for shoppers.

There's one we especially like 🥰: "Keep it simple: read labels, choose products that say they're free of these ingredients, and use ingredient-checking tools like Clearya," alongside other tools.

Their video reporting was picked up by FOX 5, ABC 6 News, WESH 2 News, and others, helping raise awareness 🙌

💡 The bottom line: You don't have to wait for regulations to catch up. Apps like Clearya help you vet your shampoo, lotion, makeup, and more - right now - flagging chemicals of concern and showing you safer alternatives. 📲

Some good news for your makeup bag and bathroom shelf! 💄

Celebrating a big year for Clearya's collaboration with the California Department of Public Health's Safe Cosmetics Program (CSCP). CSCP just released their 2025 results, and here is how CSCP is making your shopping safer (with some data-driven support from Clearya Insights 😎):

📊 23,000 products reported by companies, including fragrance ingredients (50% increase from last year!)

💪 We used Clearya’s technology to help the State identify products that weren’t previously reporting their ingredients, bringing them into the light.

💡 Bit by bit, transparency is winning. By working together with brands, the State is ensuring thousands of ingredients are now properly disclosed. Some of these are also visible through Clearya so you can make more informed choices.

The quality of any dataset is shaped long before it's even collected. Expanding who can participate broadens which realities are captured and measured in the first place. That's why we've launched multilingual support in Clearya Survey, with Spanish added alongside English 🎯 [Versión en español abajo].

Clearya Survey is an on-site data collection app designed for fieldwork at scale, used by organizations to capture product information in stores, salons, laboratories, other workplaces, and in homes. Multilingual support ensures these projects can be carried out consistently across diverse settings and participant groups, with data streaming directly into Clearya Insights for customized analysis and reporting. 📸

🤝 We're rolling this out with Lideres Campesinas, a California-based organization that has spent decades building leadership among farmworker women and youth and running statewide, community-led programs across California. Their experience coordinating large participant networks and executing structured field initiatives made them a natural partner for this rollout.

This work benefits our partner organizations like the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) by providing data and analysis that can contribute to research on safer consumer products.

💬 We're continuing to expand language support. Which language would you like to see next?

If you need field data that's up to date, captured quickly and accurately, and analyzed to your needs, let's connect.

¿Qué idioma te gustaría ver a continuación?

Big News! 🚀 OpenAI Foundation's People-First AI Fund has awarded funding to a collaboration between Clearya and Defend Our Health as one of 208 projects selected from nearly 3,000 applicants nationwide.

OpenAI Foundation’s fund aims to support mission driven-work that strengthens communities and expands the opportunity of AI to everyone.

For Clearya, this recognition affirms the importance of bringing AI-driven toxic exposure intelligence into real-world settings where it can improve health protection and strengthen trust across the value chain.

This grant is supporting our joint work in Maine to prevent exposures to PFAS and other harmful chemicals in daily products and translate complex data into actionable insights. The project creates a data foundation that supports stronger compliance, market transparency, and informed decision making for partners across industries. 🤖 🌿

Two pillars enable this work. Clearya Insights and the Clearya Survey AI-driven platforms turn chemical disclosures and real-world product screenings into immediate, structured intelligence. Built with a responsible-AI framework, our tools generate high-fidelity data that can help our partners identify hazards, benchmark performance across markets, and align with evolving consumer and regulatory expectations.

The other pillar is Defend Our Health, whose deep community partnerships and 25-year policy leadership provide an innovative launchpad in Maine with national impact to come. Their long standing work with residents, tribal nations, and community based organizations ensures that project findings reflect real exposure patterns and support solutions that advance public health and practical market change.

We are grateful for this recognition and proud to contribute to a national cohort exploring how AI can serve people, health, and communities. Our team looks forward to sharing learnings from this work as we continue to advance chemical safety, market transparency, and responsible AI for public good. 🥰
